Job Summary:

Srushti Conservation Foundation is seeking motivated Post Graduates to assist in the investigation of Central Asian Flyway – Inland Wetland Ecosystems across India. The Project Scientists will play a critical role in documenting biodiversity values, analyzing species diversity and migration patterns, and supporting socio-economic assessments to understand community dependence on wetland ecosystems. Additionally, they will help develop training modules for wetlands managers and contribute to the drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policy briefs for wetlands conservation and biodiversity protection, particularly for corporate stakeholders.

 Qualifications: 

  • Education: Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biodiversity, Zoology, Botany, Wetland Ecology, or related fields.
  • Skills and Experience: Prior experience in wetland biodiversity surveys, ecological research, or wetland management is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills for biodiversity data analysis, species diversity assessments, and ecological interactions.
  • Familiarity with socio-economic assessment methods related to environmental conservation.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, GIS, or ecological modeling tools).
  • Experience in developing training modules or conducting capacity development activities is an advantage.
  • Strong writing skills for drafting SOPs, policy briefs, and research reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field investigations in selected inland wetlands to document and evaluate biodiversity values, including flora, fauna, and overall ecosystem health.
  • Analyse species diversity, migration patterns, and ecological interactions within wetland ecosystems.
  • Support socio-economic assessments of wetland ecosystems to better understand local community dependence and interactions with wetland resources.
  • Assist in the development of training modules and capacity-building programs for wetland managers, focusing on wetland biodiversity, ecology, and conservation planning.
  • Collaborate in drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policy briefs on inland wetland conservation and biodiversity protection aimed at corporate partners and stakeholders.
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to promote wetland conservation awareness and gather valuable insights for research.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and publications based on the findings from field investigations and socio-economic assessments.

Candidates should have:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interest in biodiversity conservation, wetland ecosystems, and environmental sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel to field sites and work in outdoor environments, sometimes in challenging conditions
